When the large crowd of the Jews learned that Jesus was there, they came, not only on account of him but also to see Lazarus, whom he had raised from the dead. John 12:9 ESV
Radically changed lives garner the attention of others. While it is unlikely that God will work through us to raise someone back to life (other than through medical intervention), he will use us to raise up others to spiritual life. And when those who have walked in the darkness begin their journey in the light of Christ, the crowds will take notice and begin to ask questions. For that matter, when we who have been “born again” make changes that are marked by grace and truth, others will be attracted to the source of our inner strength. But we are only the attraction—the walking billboards who point others to the One who raises the dead to new life.
Father God, use us to draw the crowds to your Son—whether it be through how we conduct our own lives or through how we reach out to others. Amen.
