Scripture: Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity, and sound speech that cannot be condemned, so that an opponent may be put to shame, having nothing evil to say about us. Titus 2:7-8 ESV
Observation: The medium is the message. Christ embodied the Gospel and so should we. There is nothing more defaming to the Christian Church than a high-profile preacher or teacher who is later proven to have lived a life in contradiction to what he or she professed. In contrast, even inept communicators who faithfully love and serve God and his people shine the brightest light on the Gospel they proclaim.
Takeaway: How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news (Isaiah 52:7)? When the messenger walks with integrity, they are a welcomed sight for sore eyes.
Prayer: Father God, help us to remember that the medium is the message, that we embody your Son’s Gospel with its transforming power. May our witnesses match what we proclaim. Amen.
