No unbelief made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised. Romans 4:20-21
Abraham did waver in unbelief with some things, like trusting that God would protect him when he pawned Sarah off as his sister—twice! But when it came to God’s covenant, he was unwavering and trusted that his Lord could even raise Isaac from the dead.
This is good news! All of us waiver in our faith journeys, but what is key is to fix our eyes on the One who for the joy set before him endure the Cross and is now seated at the right hand of the Father interceding on our behalf (Hebrews 12:2). When we do, we grow in confidence in his completed work and deepen our knowledge of his grace. It is there that we find rest for our weary souls.
